Nope, made it back to the house without hurting anyone or myself and got right on the problem. Think I'm still going to turn them for a clean up. I got a place where they'll let me do it, IF the owner is around. Hard to trust another with the brakes. I got them purdy good with the DA, probably should true them up. Those young guys can be cut crazy lol.

They haven't needed turning yet, these things were forged or heat treated just right, want to hang on to them as long as I can.

Yea, if I'm ever in need for a booster, I look into a dual diaphragm if I can benefit. Skidder fails aren't healthy!

How long have you had your current setup on it?

I didn't realize just how much better the brakes are on Expeditions until I owned one. Rock Auto helped me out, and confirmed my belief that the 98 Expy had the bigger booster.

Oh really, the 98 Expy had the larger booster ? The booster on my 98 is the original. So does your 98 Expy have 4 wheel disc?

Indeed it does have rear disc. It has an 8.8 too instead of the 9.75 - which I thought was strange.

It is strange if it's a 5four.

Dual Diaphragm Brake Booster is required on 4 wheel disc brake. There are also thick brake booster With single diaphragm. It's hard to make a full stop at high speed on a single Diaphragm.

Ford's 1999 What's New Manual - Dual diaphragm brake booster standard with F150.

I almost bought the $700 rear brake convertion from drum to disc. I notice our E150 has small rotors (15"wheel stock) and rear drum brakes but the brakes are 3x better than my F150

That's damn near worth changing over to as it sits with drum brakes.

No, it's a 4six. I had thought all of the Expy's came with the 9.75 though, so I was surprised to see an 8.8 when I crawled under there.

Not that I know of. All 5fours have the 9.75. 4sixes have the 8.8. Unless they have been modified.
