I hope you've got HDPP if you've got an 8k gooseneck. Also, given the route, I assume you're talking about a summer trip. It's hard to tell from that zoom level, but I'm pretty sure you've got some not-open-in-summer roads on there.

Re: the route, I'd strongly suggest getting yourself east of Yellowstone while you're in the neighborhood. There are a couple of NF campgrounds in the Cooke City area, and the Beartooth Pass is a pretty damn cool thing to check out, but I'd do it sans trailer. Actually, maybe there's a decent camping option near Gardiner (I'm not sure), so you could have a base near the park to park the trailer at and explore the park without it. The summer traffic in YNP and GNP (and presumably some others on your list) gets pretty hairy even in a passenger vehicle, having the trailer would make stopping at some popular attractions (e.g. Grand Prismatic) nearly impossible (and actually, come to think of it, I think some of them are actually signed "no trailers").

Oh, and GTTS Road in GNP has a 21' limit on it across Logan Pass. That puts a crew cab w/6.5' bed at barely legal, although I didn't see much enforcement against "barely illegal" vehicles while I was there (saw a few 8'-bed crew cabs while we were there last summer, and none of them were discussing truck length with the rangers). I'm assuming they're much more strict about truck-and-trailer combos (as the 21' limit applies to the whole combo).

Friesbruh has another post about his truck. He has one of the new 2018 Max tows. These differ from the 2017 Max tows in that the rear axle rating is 4050 pounds instead of 3800 pounds. So the 2018 Max Tows are more capable for use with a goose neck than the 2015-2017 Max tows. Still doesn't have the payload or rear GAWR of an HDPP, and I'm not sure if he's done building his camper to know the tongue weight yet.

Firesbruh - sorry, can't help with the route. Just curious how the camper build is going? Did you start a thread on it?

Can't comment on the route or truck, but what's a 3.5MTP?

John,
Your signature says MPT Tunes in it. Maybe that is what he meant?
